3 Jan

There’s something about the beginning of a new year that makes me want to knit socks. Perhaps it’s the feeling of wanting something warm to wear; something cheery for a snowy January day!

This week choose from two brands/four colourways of colourful, self-striping sock yarn that is just the thing to cure the January blahs! Each ball is $10 each, no HST, and will yield one pair of your average socks.

There’s Supersocke from Online, 75% wool, 25% polyamide, 100gr/420m. It’s even infused with Aloe Vera and Jojoba! Colour 1438 is brown, black, royal blue, kelly green with a touch of orange. Colour 1439 is a cheerful combo of fuschia, royal blue, yellow and orange with a touch of black and brown.

And if you’re dreaming of relaxing in exotic (and warm!) locales, there’s Mexiko from Schoeller and Stahl, 75% wool, 25% polyamide, 100gr/420m. Colour 204 is a happy combo of black, turquoise, cream, orange, and purple. Colour 202 is a combo of fuschia, cornflower blue, yellow and orange with a touch of cream and lime green.
