Just Announced! Harrowsmith August 29/30

26 Aug

Great news! You can shop Purlin’ J’s yarn truck this weekend in Harrowsmith! See you Saturday and Sunday (August 29/30) at Centennial Park in Harrowsmith, Ontario, for the 150th Celebration of the County of Frontenac! Enjoy midway rides, a plowing match, petting zoo, food trucks, beer tent, and lots of live music! (One of my favourite local bands, Bellfonix, is playing Saturday from 5:15 – 6:15pm.)

I recently received a new shipment of Malabrigo “Rasta”. This soft Merino super-bulky yarn is a favourite for making cowls, hats and mitts. It works up fast so it’s great for knitting up some quick gifts. The truck will be open Saturday 10 am to 8pm and Sunday 10 am to 3pm.

Sweater weather is coming!

See you this weekend,
Purlin’ J

Let’s TWIST again! 22/23 August

19 Aug

This weekend is THE fibre event of the year: TWIST! Lil Dorothy will once again be parked inside the arena for your shopping pleasure. Shop for new yarns from Agrestal Yarn, Silver Cloud Alpacas, plus a new batch of Zen Yarn Garden’s popular sock yarn Serenity 20 has just arrived!

With more than 125 vendors and 40 workshops, there’s lots to see, do and EAT! This year’s festival includes 13 local food vendors as well! Admission is $7 per day and kids under 12 are free.

Purlin’ J’s is Two! This Calls for a Sale!

12 Aug

The sun is promising to shine this weekend over the very picturesque town of Westport. If that’s not enough, how about a yarn sale? I have lots of gorgeous yarns that I’m putting on sale in honour of Purlin’ J’s second anniversary! (And because new fall merchandise is starting to come in!) Selected yarns will be on sale for up to 50% off.

This Saturday is the annual Music Westport, an outdoor, live music celebration! You’ll find Lil Dorothy, Purlin’ J’s yarn truck, in front of the Tourist Information office on Spring Street.

Open 10 am to 5pm. Cash, Visa, Mastercard. Sale items are final sale.
