Wolfe Island Christmas Village, Nov. 29

27 Nov

The Wolfe Islander ferry is back, and it’s docking at the Marysville (summer) dock! Make up for lost time by visiting on Sunday, November 29, to enjoy the Wolfe Island Christmas Village. The Purlin’ J’s yarntruck, Lil Dorothy, will be at the Marysville Public School (venue 2 on the map) from 10 am to 3 pm. The ferry schedule can be found here.

If you have not visited Wolfe Island this year, now is the time! The entire Wolfe Island community is so pleased to welcome back its ferry walk-on visitors. The Christmas Village event on Sunday features vendors at several locations, pony rides, a tea room, and more. Walk on the ferry, and walk off! This could be your last chance this year to before the ferry begins its seasonal stint at the winter dock.

Plus, Sunday could very well be the yarntruck’s last event before she starts her winter hibernation. I hope to see you this weekend!

With warm wishes,
Purlin’ J

P.S. Remember you can drop off your Izzy Dolls at the yarntruck Saturday and Sunday. We are making these to give to Syrian children arriving in Canada soon. They are a small token of comfort.

This weekend! PEC and Almonte

3 Nov

Lil Dorothy, Purlin’ J’s yarn truck, has quite a road trip this weekend. First, on Saturday, November 7, she stops in Milford in Prince Edward County at Jackson’s Falls Country Inn (1768 County Road #17) for the Rosehaven Yarn Shop’s Wool and Wine Knitting Retreat. The retreat itself is sold out (join the waiting list here), but that doesn’t mean you can’t shop for wonderful hand-dyed yarn and other knitting goodies from the vendors at the retreat. The yarn truck is open 11am to 3pm in Milford.

Then on Sunday, November 8, get a head-start on your holiday shopping in charming and historic Almonte, Ontario, at the Handmade Harvest show at the Almonte Old Town Hall. The yarn truck is one of many vendors at this popular juried show. The first 50 shoppers receive a swag bag! Admission to the show is $2; kids are free.

NEW on-board you’ll find Sweet Paprika’s Minuet DK yarn, plus wonderful Sweet Paprika kits for making socks and Christmas stockings!
